High Speeds Steering Issue

I've noticed something on my 03 Max. When I start hitting the gas and i get it up to around 3 or 4 thousand RPM's the car goes straight no problems no pulling. Then when i really step on it and it revs to 5, 6, 7 thousand RPM's the car like really pulls left and right it doesnt go straight at all. Just wanted to know what you guys thought? To me this really doesnt seem normal b/c my brother in law has a 98 Max and when he steps on it and gets up there the car goes perfectly straight no pulling or anything.

This only happens to me in weird traction situations, such as a) roads are damp (not wet), so wheels swap traction, b) old roads with the two slight trenches from too much traffic, or c) less significantly but same symptom when tires are bad (i.e. stock Deathtenzas, or replacements reaching the end of their tread life).

Also, 5.5 gens are very sensitive to tire pressures, you might check those.

its called torque steer...seems normal to me, considering its a 255hp FWD car (assuming you have a 5.5 gen)

edit: sorry, missed the beginning of your post..you DO have an '03, so i think this is what you should expect from a car like this

I agree. This happens to me and to most of the other 3.5L Maximas I've been in. It's torque steer, and it's common to cars that have a decent amount of torque. Even the Nissan Sentra SE-R Spec-V has a good bit of torque steer, and it produces considerably less torque than a 5.5 gen Maxima (but it's also a much lighter car).

Here's the short answer on what you're experiencing:

Torque steer when the car is already traveling at highway speeds? That's not supposed to happen. My uncle's 03 never does that. Torque steer should only happen from a dead stop and not when you floor the car going 60MPH.

hmm...thats weird, because it does to me ( only when i drop it into 3rd trying to get passed the IDIOTS that want to go 50 in a 65) it pulls to the right pretty bad...yet not nearly as noticible as from a stop...

edit: and also i cant floor it in my car without breaking the tires loose cuz i still have the original POFS deathtenzas that have abolutely no traction whatsoever and that i am going to burn as soon as the come off my car
