newbie here

hello. i recently bought me a '00 Maxima GXE couple weeks ago. its pearl white, 91,000miles all for $8900. i had a '89 Supra turbo... but love the Maxima 10x better. i love the room, the speed is good and useable and so far no problems. i do want OEM foglights and spoiler, tint the windows and OEM rims off a SE or GLE from '00 to '03 model. my name is eddie and live in Fort Walton Beach, FLorida.

Welcome to the org Eddie. Make sure you read all the stickies and how tos before you post any questions or you will get flamed around here. There are all kinds of stuff available in the classified section, i'm sure you will find what you are looking for. There is no better site out there re. the Max.

Welcome to the org. You can check the 5th Gen classifieds for parts. Also check the FAQ's at the top of this page for a lot of info on mods.

Welcome... you'll find this site to be rich with info I think... but listen to what everyone already posted... check out the Stickies: Search Before You Post, FAQs, How-To's, Part's Sites, etc....

And yeah, regional forums are really useful too....

Happy .Org-ing...

Don't worry bout the timing chain for atleast another 50K...unless it's starting to make a lot of noise it's not necessary.

You mean not all forums are like this one??!!

My o1 max has 127,000 miles, yet no issues with the timing chain.

Enjoy your new ride.

Timing chain is good for life of the car, you should be able to get 300K miles out of the timing chain. I'm probably going to do mine around 160K miles when I'm inside the engine anyways. I'm at over 100K right now.
