Brake Booster Function?

What does this do? I read it in my I30T manual... anyone know?

go drive a car from the 70's that doesn't have "power brakes".......and note that the car does not have a brake booster. Then you will know.....

(it's for your power brakes)

By admitting atmosphere to one side of a diaphragm that has vacuum (from the intake manifold) on the other side, it creates force to augment your effort when you step on the brake pedal.
