Big brake from SS corp anyone....

Hey guys, I'm about to buy a big brake kit from SS corp ( force 10 twin pistons with 12" rotor ) I'm wondering if any org member has one installed, so what is your overall impression ? It was hard to choose between Matt's BB front brake kit with Z caliper, but the reason I finally decide to go with SS corp is the kit is new and was design for the maxima, on the other side Matt's kit is interesting but it's made from used or reconditoned part and that bother me, any comments will be greatly appreciate.

Cheers

Don't do it, you'll regret it. Do some research on SSBC, and those brake parts.

IMO, you'd be better off with Matt's kit out of those 2 choices.

Honestly my first choice was to go with the z-kit, but it might not fit my 17" TMW, I dont want to throw another 2K for 18" wheels and shoes and that is what make me look at SSBC. ?????????????

I did not have a great experience with mine...I ordered the 12.25" rotors with 2 piston calipers and they vibrated so much through my pedal that I removed them. I'm going to have them turned to see if that eliminates the vibration but if not then I'll be done with them.....not a happy camper here...
Peace,
Stevie B.

The vibration is clearly indicating something is wrong, maybe the rotor where already warp or bad quality or perhaps something is wrong with the installation, I mean how can a company sell brake kit and get away with a product that would'nt work well. I'd like to ear more from experience users.

Thank you for your input and keep me in the loops on how it goes.

Cheers

Did you bed them in properly?

If not, that could very well be your problem.

If you think the rotor is warped, it's not that hard to measure the run out. At least at a basic level. Take the wheel off and secure the rotor with 2-3 lugnuts. Then mount a wire to the lug or something secure. Then bend it to where is very close to the rotor. Then turn the rotor and note if it's warped.

Agreed...what I plan to do is re-install them and have the rotors turned and scrub the pads as well and then go through the bedding/burn in process again...there are a couple of different recommended processes to this so I'm open to suggestions.
Thanks,
srb
