Well, I got my windows tinted *PICS*

I love the way it looks, but it's WAY darker than I had expected and I'm a little concerned about extra attention from police. It's darker than legally allowed (yeah, I walked right into that one, haha!) but I didn't think it would look THAT dark. My brother got the legal 35% and it hardly looked like anything at all. I would have liked a LITTLE darker than his, but this was a little much. I think it looks great, I just hope the headaches are minimal. Next is a very slight drop just to even things up. I'm going to have to be careful with the rest of my mods so my car doesn't just become a magnet for law enforcement ;-) Anyway, the pics make it look REAL dark because of the snow throwing off the white balance, but here are the pics:

Yeah, 20% all around. It's good hearing you guys say it doesn't look too dark. Maybe I won't get too much of a hard time

Hey, that looks good man, I thought it was 35% at first too until you said it was 20%. Just don't attract attention by driving like an a$$ and keep the speeding down and you shouldn't be hassled.

That tint is RIDICULOUS. It's hot as anything if you're going for the blacked out look, but how do you drive at night (or even the day, for that matter) with 5%?!?

looks really nice dude. it's not too dark at all. i have 20% on my 3 rears and 35% on the 2 fronts.

did they tint the dot matrix at the top of your rear window, if so then how does it look up close and from inside the car? cuz the guy i had do my tints f'ed that up for me. it looks like there are streaks in it. i need to go back and have that a-hole cut that part off.

Thanks. I'll take a close up pic of that part tomorrow morning, but yes, he tinted over the dots on the rear windshield and it looks good. Up close you can see that it's a little different than the rest of the window and at night any lights coming through that part of the glass (which is rare anyway) are blurred. I'm very happy with the installation. I got the tint at the place I did because I had seen his work before, and I asked him specifically about the dots before I had him tint it. Like I said, I'll get pics tomorrow so you can see for yourself

Looks good man Mine is 20%, yours is at least 15%. If that's legal in your area you're lucky. The more I get used to seeing mine the less I'm worried about it around here. The guy who did the tint said, "If you were riding around in a riced out Civic, I might be concerned. You're driving a nice car though, police probably won't give you too hard a time." That's the only thing I'm worried about, I love the look of the dark windows on these cars

Hey Man
Where did u get the tint done?
im in Waltham and i have a '02 Pearl white with 35% platinum tint all around!
It looked really dark to me first.. but i got used to it... now im thinking of redoing the back windshield and back windows to darkest possible, so it darkens the interior!

You have a PM And I considered doing the sides in 35% and the back in 20%, that will look good and darken up the appearance of the whole thing. I just like the uniform look of one shade all around.

Skizza....I think it looks pretty good! I got 28% all around on mine, and I wish I would have only gone 35%. I think mine is a little too dark, and the 35% would look a little classier. But its all personal preference. Or it could just be a sign of getting old. The old eyes aren't what they used to be!

Skizza, i'm looking to get my windows done in MA as well when spring hits. Would you care to share where you had them done, and how much? I'm probably going for 35%. Hope you have connections when you get your car inspected, MA inspection stations have a device to determine if the tint is beyond legal limit, and will fail you if the tint is less than 35%.

Yeah, I have a couple of places where I'll have no problem with the inspection. Besides, my inspection is due in the summer, I'll try to just keep the windows down when I come in Hahaha!

I kind of feel the same way about the 35% just being a little classier. I love the look of the dark windows, but as soon as I picked my car up I drove past another SE that had 35% and thought, "Now THAT looks good!". Well, you only live once so I'll keep this until I have to change it (law) or just decide that I don't want it anymore. The more I get used to it the more I like it, so maybe it will just grow on me

Can anyone recommend a tint that is high reflective in the 30's. How visible is the rear with 30's at nite... I'm always on the lookout for cops.
