Price For 2000 Maxima
I am considering selling my car but still have not made up my mind. I have had it since new and this is the first time I kept a car long enough to pay it off.
My car is a black 2000 GXE that has all of the SE parts except for the gauges. I have bought all factory SE wheel, tail lights, fog lights, and added an Alpine stereo. I just bought new KYB-GR2's that I have not even installed. My car is in very good shape and only had 46k miles on it. My favorite thing about my car is the 5-speed. The reason I may sell it is that I am moving to Maine the end of this year and as much as I love the car it is not that great in the snow. Granted I have 245/45/17's which don't help the cause. Bottom line is what would a fair price be for this car. It is all stock (except K&N drop in filter) and has run nothing but mobil 1 in the engine. I know what book value is but I need to know the real deal.
Thanks guys.

What do you mean the real deal? Book value for your car is what it is. The problem you may run into is that book value will be based on the GXE trim level not the SE even though you may have added most of the parts that came on the SE. It's the same dilemma someone with aftermarket mods has when they go to trade in or sell their car. The dealer will only consider book value without the mods. You may be able to find a buyer that will pay a little extra for the GXE trim because of the stuff you added. Good luck with your decision.

i would look on autotrader and see what other ones are going for in your area. it is hard to price it since you swapped some SE parts. if you have the stock stuff you might be better putting it back on and selling the SE stuff on ebay. the low miles are going to help a lot. enjoy maine... i have family up there and i love going to see them. they live on cousins island about an hour north of old orchard beach.

By read deal I mean what people are willing to pay. Some times the book values are not realistic to what the market is at that time. In all honesty there is not a huge difference between the GXE and the SE as far as price. I made the changes because I wanted the car that way. When I was looking for my car there were not black 5-speed SE's available. So I bought my car and in effect turned it into an SE. Not to mention I only paid 19k for my car out the door back in 2000.
