I see alot of 5.5 gens..........
I just got my car about 3 weeks ago, a 2002 Nissan Maxima Se 6-Speed with a ton of parts on the way. I see that alot of 5.5gens use the super afc-2. What is it useful for? Im just getting more information on parts and ordering parts for my car and I see alot of guys are using this mod. Is it that good/useful? Why? Thanks.

Yea with my income tax money I ordered: Injen Intake,HS Headers,Jic Magic Coilovers,Stillen FSTB,RSTB,Rear Sway Bar,Racing Straight Pipe, Custom Exhaust,UR PULLEY,Jet Chip ECU. I wanted to know if this would be a good mod to go with all the mods I am getting. I know Jet Chip reprogams my ecu, so would there still be a need to get the Super afc-2 anyway? Im just trying to get some answers. Thanks. :attention

I saw about 2 maxima's with the jet ecu. If it doesn't work with 02 maxima's, why would custommaxima.com have it on their site? I know my brother has 1 in his 96, but I thought it would work for the 02. Custommaxima should take it off under the years "2002-2003" if it doesn't work because on their website it is supposedly supposed to work from "89-2005".

With my income tax check I'm going all out on the Tornado Fuel Saver!!
haha... but seriously... a lot of people have posted with past experiecnes that the JET doesnt do anything. or if it shows changes, keep us posted!
Technosquare ecu: http://www.technosquareinc.com/nissan.htm
Also.. has anyone in NY heard about Maximum Tunning on Long Island? I have a friend that told me the owner has 4 or 5 maximas and he does ecu programing. Wanted to know if anyone got anything from him.

You might be better off doing research here before just throwing away money on
mods that suck. I can see 2 or 3 things in your list that leave me scratching my head... It's not all about every mod you have, it's about making decisions about what you really can get benefits from... the jet chip mod was a plain carelease thing to order, has been classicly discussed on this forum, and is an absolute no-no. The racing straight pipe will fail you in emissions, and does nothing. The injen is very controversial here, i have one but money can be spent better.
Your labor will be ridiculous unless you go DIY (i kinda don't recommend that).
Also, modding shouldn't be all done at once, it should be done a little at a time, it's easier to isolate problems that might occur, and they do occur alot of the time, anyone who has had modded cars will frequently encounter problems that aren't perdictable, so it's definatly going to give you a lot of head ache if you are not very careful.
I would avoid the SAFC until you really know what your doing.
I don't mean to sound harsh, and i actually do have 'most' of what you listed on my car, but i think you are going about this all wrong. Take your time buddy, and you will always appreciate (and experience) much much more.
