AE Sills

Can anyone direct me to the guy that brushed his AE sills, I would love to do it, they look much better than that shiny finish
If you read this I suppose asking for a write-up is a bit much, but even a general idea of how it was done would be great
Cheers

I've seen someone give an Ipod a similar brushed aluminuim effect using a scouring pad.

sooner says he just used a sponge-type sanding block and sanded in one direction.
I was surprised it is so simple.

when you say in one direction does that mean only left, for example, or only horizontaly?

hey guys
just got back from vacation and saw this.
glad everyone likes them. i love the way they look.
yes i used a sanding block (more like a rough sponge) i got from home depot.
and removed the metal from the plastic part and sanded in one direction (the LENGTH of the metal not side to side)

btw, i also did this to my FSTB

is that the sponge you're supposed to use to sand down spackle? and if so then is there are specific number of the sand roughness that you used?

oh and any pics of the FSTB or what the sills look like installed?

and lastly, did you have to take the alumin piece out of the door sill to do this or did you just have to be careful not to sand the plastic part? thanks.

Personally I like the polished AE sills better, but the brushed satin look is pretty damn nice too...
