Stock Intake Whistle

I was just wondering if anyone else has the stock intake box with this same whistle. Sometimes when i accelerate or when im just cruising down the highway i can hear a slight whistle. It sounds like its coming form the throttle body. Im thinking it might be the air going by the buterfly valve. Is there any known way to eliminate this whistle or is is something you just have to live with?

when i first got my car it had a slight whistle, when i popped the hood i noticed one of my 2 clamps holding the air filter in wasn't clipped on. once i clipped it back into place it went away. now of course i have an injen intake and it whistles all the time

mine roars a little, but my car is really slow now... so it's an MAF failure, and my car stalls, so that's the TB being dirty... check your intake first

Why aren't we helping? He wanted to know if it was normal, and we're all reaffirming that it is.... considering he already knows what it is....

the whistle is the airflow over the butterfly valve on the throttle body. It is quite normal. With the stock airbox, most people can't hear it at all, but if you have a short-ram intake, it's quite apparent. It used to annoy me a little, but I actually like it now....

If you think that's bad, I have a true cold air place racing intake, the filter sits by the wheel well, my whistle is louder than the exhaust (I have a greddy evo and a still y pipe), people think that my car is turboed..It's pretty amusing..
