hood shake anyone?

Hey what's up. I just purchased my first max and love it, just have question. At speeds above 80mph the drivers side of my hood shakes at the point closest to the windshield. The passenger side is fine. I checked the hood latch and mounts and everything seems nice and tight. Is this normal or should I have it checked out? Thanks.

I guess it could be considered "normal" It is a common problem. Check out this link... http://maxima.theowensfamily.com/tsb...=2002&tsb=none It's TSB NTB02-005.

MIne did this too after the hurricanes here in florida something hit it pretty hard. I had checked everything and it all looked good. But when I brought it in the fix the damages I had them look at it and they fixed it, I'm not sure what they did. But bring it to a body shop and have them check it out for you. Probably an easy fix.

good info, thanks. I found the TSB that applies to it. Since it's out of warranty, will the dealer help me out since it's a known issue or do I have to pay for the whole thing?

if its out of warranty TSB's come out of your pocket. I would reccomend taking it to a body shop over the dealer because you'll get raped at the dealer. But you should at least call and see if they will cover it.

Sorry to say but you're SOL. I'm in the same boat as you. Now that I'm past warranty everything is breaking on me.

if you purchased it from a car dealership, I would try to go through them for the fixing/replacing of the hood.

I had the hood shake TSB done -- not only did it not really help much, the dumb*** n00b tech dented my hood in 2 places.
