Careers
I break stuff for a living. And yes, I like it.
Anyone have any software they think is perfect? Give me a few minutes with it and I'll make it say "uncle".
Heard someone mention NYCE. That is the next project on my list. Writing the project plan for it and a few other new features tonight.
Looks like a bunch of geeks drive Maxima's.
Oh, since the Max is my wife's car (I just keep it clean) I guess I should tell you she is a programmer.
Sleep is for the weak.

I work at a Red Robin restaurant as a cook. The pay sucks there and I really don't enjoy it all that much. The people that work there are cool and I must say there are so many fine ladies working there.
I also go to school part time but I need to get my act together. After reading through this thread I really feel inferior. But I should take it as inspiration, knowing that if work a lot harder just as all of you have I can graduate from a university and get a good paying job that I will like. Sorry guys, but you guys got me thinking. Anyways take care everyone.

I am a NOC technician for an ISP in VA... the work is cool. Everyone here kicks a$$. I came into the job with absolutely no technical knowledge, and I have to say that I've come a long way. But I'm hoping to give a college a second chance, so I can catch up on drinking

Well...
I'm a mechanical engineer working for Caterpillar in Peoria, IL. You know the Caterpillar 797 mining truck? The world largest mining truck? The one with a transmission as big as my Sentra? Well, I have nothing to do with it, but I am working on other transmissions

I'm 25 and an Industrial Hygienist/Safety Professional. I conduct indoor environmental quality evaluations of workplaces and residences. I also test the water, soil, and air for anything that you could possibly think of. It's pretty cool. I sometimes get to suit up in gear that you'd see in a movie or something, with respirators and those white suits. It can sometimes be very dangerous. Anyway, peace out.

I work in Mergers & Acquisitions for a Fortune 100 computer company. It's fun and I travel some. It pays the Max payment and that's all that matters right now! hehe

I'm looking for something where lots of people send me money (via wire if possible) and I don't really have to do anything.
Can we work something out?

Defense Security Officer
I am a defense security officer, and currently enrolled full-time at Northeastern University. Work pays for college, and college will get me a new job. Then maybe my new job can help me buy a Bimmer.
I help protect government secrets at General Dynamics Corp.

Computer GEEK i.e. Engineer
I graduated with a B.S.(Bull $hit) degreee from UofArizona and started working for Honeywell/GE on 01/01/01(Computer Geek to the end) fixing software for jet engine ECUs.
Anyways, I hope to work for Bosch or Visteon for a few years to use their name. Eventually when I'm about 40, I want to retire and open my own Roush/Lingenfelter/Speed shop for any type of land/sea/air/electric performance vehicles.

Well I can say I'm not into engineering/programming like everyone else..
Im an underwriter tech for a property/casualty insurance company.
I enjoy my job, i've been here 6 years (been promoted 2 times so i've done lots of different things). I can see myself staying in this line of business for awhile.

I'm an environmental scientist for URS Corporation (biggest engineering firm in the world). I spend about 40% of my time in the "field" doing soil and groundwater investigation and remediation (Phase I and Phase II work for the environmental literate) and 60% of my time is spent writing reports. I've worked on jobs for the Air Force, DOT, Corps of Engineers, Ford Motor Company, and a ton of other commercial clients. Working for Ford is pretty cool because I've seen the Cobra, Lightning, Tribute, Blackwood, etc well over a year before they were released to the public. Many times I would see them with that camo-badging. It's a pretty cool job, but I could stand to make a little more money.
