Question about DTC P0740

First of all, yes i did search.

As I was leaving work today my CEL comes on. Nothing seemed out of the ordinary so i proceeded to home and then to autozone to have them pull the codes. Two codes, both the same, P0740 - Torque Converter Circuit. I did some searching on google and found this page:

http://www.infinitihelp.com/Ownershi.../NTB01-035.htm

It's for an Altima but i figure it can't be that much different. So it seems like its a problem with the solenoid sticking but doesn't list any symptoms or problems associated with it. Here's my dilemma. I'm supposed to go on a 500 mile round trip this Thursday and i don't have any time to get the car looked at before then. As far as i can tell the car drives and shifts normally. Do you think it will be OK for the trip? Anyone had a similar problem? Thanks in advance.

seems as though it is only an issue when the temp is below 40. on a 5 hour trip, the atf will be plenty hot and you should not experience anything according to the tsb. i do not have any experience with this code but as long as you are not traveling to somewhere with a sub 40 degree temp high then i would suggest taking the trip. they mention no resulting failures besides solenoid plunger sticking. when you get back, look into dropping the car overnight so they can hopefully duplicate the problem in the morning. by the way, the code for the altima would be the same for the maxima.
