Odometer Display

has anyone noticed a flickering in the odometer display? i noticed this morning when i started the car, (2K auto) that there is a slight flicker in the backlighting. the display doesn't go completely off, just a slight flicker in the intensity of the backlight.

anyone experience this or know what the cause might be? i'm just at the end of my 100,000 mile warranty and would like to address this before it expires. thanks.

A flickering guage cluster usually means low charging system voltage, I would check the the battery with a voltmeter to make sure the alternator is charging properly.

that's a sign that the car is about to self-destruct. Get out, Quick!!!

Seriously, though, Out-of-Focus is on target with that. But if it's only the odometer flickering and not other lighting, you might have a faulty LCD screen for it.....unfortunately I think the only way to replace the LCD screen is to replace the entire gauge cluster.....

i don't have a system but i am running HID fogs from umnitza. do yo think this has anything to do with it? i have a new optima yellow top battery. maybe it's the alternator?

i did notice one time that my BEL radar detector showed low voltage one morning when i started the car but it went back to normal shortly thereafter. it might have been during the time that i turned on my HID fogs. maybe the initial startup of the HID's pulls too much current?

what do you guys think? anybody have this problem?
