you can go 20s but id suggest 19s. It will also depend on your drop. If you go with a big drop then probably cant run 20's.

Skirt Drop?

doesnt dropping a 2001 maxima se give the same effect as adding a skirt kit, well any car, doesnt it give it the same look? so if i get 20's couldnt a skirt settle my lowerness..? or do u think tis beneficial to get 19's a skirt, THEN lower it...

if you dont lower it, you would still have the huge 4x4 wheel gap, which is one of the main reasons that max owners lower their cars...if i were you, i wouldnt go for the 20s...ive seen a max with them and... it looked horrible...just go for the 19s or 18s and lower it...it will look so much better than the 4x4 style of the 20s with no drop IMO...

Sooo Lower, then Skirt...

So you're saying its best to lower it, get rid of the gap, then add the skirt...? and if i want to get rid of the wheel gap by lowering it i shud get 19's instead of 20's so i CAN lower it, then add my skirt after... right?

basically yes...if you want to get rid of the wheel gap, i think the 20s are the worst thing you can do...19s are pushing it, but i've seen a few .org memebers do that, and they are satisfied with it. and yes you can get a kit...most people prefer the look of the stillen classic kit i believe (dont quote me on the name though) because it seems to be the most conservative of all the other ricey kits out for the max.

Btw, if ya have an AE, doesn't it already have a kit on there? I personally like the AE kit better than any aftermarket kit made....

AE looks better.

19-20s won't matte as long as you match the tire size as closely as possible, if you don't udnerstand that, look in the faq's.

Not in Canada, I remember reading another thread about this issue - the AE's in Canada don't have the AE kit. In other words...
Nissan ------> <------ Canada

The front of the Stillen touring kit is horrendous. A travesty. Those fins are pukish.

uh oh...now you got me confused.. i thought that the stillen classic kit was the one with only the front lip...not a new bumper or anything...

anyways...i also dont see where it says that jj has an AE...i know it says "special edition" on the title, but i thought that was just what he called the "SE" ...

Your Best Bet Is To Drop The Car 1-1 1/2" And Go With 18's The Ride & Performance Will Still Be Great When You Go Larger Youll Loose Alot Of Ride And Suffer A Little In Performance Ive Run 20-19-18 The 20's Sucked The 19 Were Ok But The 18s Give The Look And Perform

Cosmetic matters aside, I wouldn't recommend putting 20'' rims on your car. There is no such thing as a lightweight, affordable 20'' wheel. The greater mass of 20'' wheels compared to your stock wheels will hurt both your acceleration and your handling. I know people will claim that having larger wheels with lower profile tires improves handling by reducing the amount of flexible rubber between you and the street, but you have to strike a balance between wheel size and wheel weight. Unsprung weight is the weight of your car that is NOT supported on top of the springs. This includes your tires, wheels, brakes, and other parts that are attached to the suspension without riding on top of it. When you increase the amount of unsprung weight on your vehicle, you force your suspension to work harder to keep your tires firmly in contact with the road. If you're building a car that's mostly "show" with very little "go," then this won't be a problem for you, but if you enjoy driving and feeling connected to the road, then you should consider something lighter than 20'' wheels.
