ok so i think my VAIS is not working.. but judst to make sure when i rev it over 5000 in second gear i should feel like a surge of power.. almost like a turbo kicks in? or should it just move up the band at about the same speed as from 3000-5000?

Also any things i should look out for when doing the fix?

 

No turbo power just linear.

 

It isn't that much of a kick of power, rather it is lack of power loss in the high end, if that makes any sense. In my car with an intake it sounds almost like my ears are being unplugged. I don't know if anyone else shares this but I do and I notice at around 5K. Don't expect a sound change or power boost like VTEC, it's not that dramatic. The VQ is superior to engines like that because it promotes power and torque throughout the rev range.
