My alarm keeps going off for no reason and I'd like to be able to lock the doors without setting the alarm on. Is this possible? I already read through the service manual and didn't see anything on the topic. Please help!

Going to the dealer 1st thing, but my baby must sleep unprotected for the night.

BTW-It would help if I told you I have an 03 Max. Thanks.

There should be a small button under the lower dash by the fuse box...perhaps under the steering column. Look for it. I forget how to do it, but I think you have to put the key in, turn the power on, and hold the button down till the flashing red light stays on solid. I maybe wrong, but someone here can tell you the correct procedure.

Thanks Andrew, but I looked all over for it and couldn't find it. Can someone verify that the button is located under the steering column or fusebox?

I don't understand why you need to put the stock alarm system in valet mode? Only reason why aftermarket alarm have valet mode is because aftermarket alarms activates automatically even with the key in ignition. Our stock alarm doesn't do that.

Right now my alarm is going off for no reason after I arm the car. It's becoming annoying because I have to run outside every hour or so to disarm it and stop the car from honking like crazy. By putting the car in valet mode, I can still "lock" my car, but not necessarily activate the alarm.

I'm at work right now and I've having to leave my car UNLOCKED because I don't have the luxury of running outside. I work in a high rise.

I'd rather have no alarm, than have that honking going on. It's embarrassing to say the least and such a nuisance.

ohhh i see, well in that case I don't think the valet mode would fix the problem. You need to take it to the dealer or alarm shop. It seems like you have a problem with the connection of the alarms which is setting it on automatically for no reason. Anyway, as far as the valet mode, there is a button under your dash some where, you have to keep looking. Here's a thread that might help you out. Goodluck.
