Brake Shim Kit

Installing new front rotors and pads on my 2000 Max. The shim kit I got at the dealer has slightly different shims than the originals. can anyone describe the order the 2 shims and 2 shim covers go on. There are 2 silver plates, one almost the size of the pad and 1 is 2/3rds teh size with a crescent shape cut in it. Then there are the 2 blake plates, one is almost solid but for 2 holes and 1 is slotted like the originals. Thanks

outside pad: black slotted on bottom, solid silver on top
inside pad: black on bottom, silver with crescent on top...

Does the crescent end up on the top or bottom half of the pad since its offset from center. Thanks!!

I don't recall, to tell you the truth...and the Nissan shop manual doesn't show the crescent part. I don't think it really matters, to tell the truth...it's just there so the pad is depressed at a slight angle (to reduce squeaking)

cresent one goes against the caliper. Dealer shims should be the same but somebody may have done you're brakes befor using non dealer parts. Just make sure they fit good because shims can slip out and start cutting on you're rotor
