This really sucks! I was on the way home from my friends place, I pulled up to a light, this dude in a 98 Mustang GT is at my right hand side. He was maybe half a car length behind me. Light turns green, I start to accelerate normally, and he takes off like a bat out of he!!, so I start flooring it too. No way I was going to catch up to him there. So we're on this highway probably hitting 90, then he slows down. So I get in front of him and have maybe 2 car lengths on him at this point, then after we passed this crown vic, he floors it again. I see him coming hard at me, so i downshift to 3rd going 50 or so. I know he got a jump on me, but that sucker was fast. It had to have been souped up, cause even though I have an intake, and my music was blasting, his engine totally muffled my sound. I guess I don't feel too bad, but it still sucks. That was my fist loss in this car. Probably won't be my last either. Anyway, in the end he had like 4 car lengths on me, then he slowed down to get off onto an exit ramp. I put my flashers on and gave him a thumbs up. It sucks. Too bad that thing wasn't a 6.

280 hp FR.....those things will mow over any stock max.


mustang....cheap fast car....good for straight line, terrible for cornering...

 

I own a 98 Mustang Cobra SVT 5sp and a 01 Max SE Auto. My Cobra would absolutely destroy the Max obviously but i like the Max for the size and comfort. I never thought much of the Max for street racing.
