The 5th Gen AT vs 4th Gen AT thread

For any of you 5th gen auto owners who also own or previously owned a 4th gen auto max, do you feel that the 5th gen tranny does not shift as aggressively? For instance, I have noticed that it definitely does not like to kick down into 2nd gear if the result will put the RPMs over 5000 RPMS. This is a little fustrating in traffic when you need that extra kick. My 4th gen max would kick down into the lowest gear possible within a couple hundred RPMs of redline. I am definitely missing this on my 5th gen.

On the plus side, the tranny shifts much smoother than the 4th gen overall. It almost feels like its not shifting at all when driving normally.

i've heard that the blehmco ground kit clears up this problem quite nicely

any ground kit should improve tranny response. i'm using the home depot ground kit and there's definitely a difference in shifting behavior. the car is not as resistant to down shifting (and also seems to shift quicker) after the install.
