How many miles before your first brakejob?

Just want to know how many miles drivers have gone before they needed their first brake job done. my brother in law has went 40k without a new break job. just wondering if this was a lot or a litte?

I guess 40k for OEM brakes sounds reasonable....my dad got 100k out of his OEM brakes on his corolla since it was mainly all highway driving...my rotors are shot already and I am just about to hit 10k. Have to take it to the dealer probably this week.

I had to change my pads and resurface all discs at 30K miles on my 2k SE...
