Finally painted the brake calipers

I had bought the red paint kit a long time ago, but i just couldnt do it to the maxima. I felt it would look nasty on a blue maxima, so i finally traded in the red for the silver. im happy with it and it looks good to me.

puppetmaster, u return yours yet? =X

Hey what did you use for this and how many coats did it take to look ok. I am about to change my rotors and pads and I am thinking about doing it.

I used the VHM stuff or whatever autozone had. It works really good, make sure you put a few layers of clear coat on though if you want it to stay shinny.

The paint i used was Dupli-Color. Got it at autobarn for $20 bucks.

I put about 2-3 coats on all the calipers. the Paint dried in about 10 mins if not less, but i waited 15-20 between each coat. When you buy the kit, you have enough to last you a life time... I had a friend with me at the time and he knocked over the whole can while i finished one side and saved a little by turning it rightside up, and still i have a lot left over eventhough more than half of the can leaked onto my driveway.

I'll post some before and after pictures later on when i get a car wash, my car is way to filthy right now

I think that you finally help me make my decision on what color to paint my calipers. I think that the silver looks sweet on our majestic blue cars.

Hey, did you disconnect the brake line or just do everyhting with it still connected? I noticed you said about 10-15 min to dry but just wondering how many coates you used?
And any suggestions on a good color to match a white body?

no problem. I had the same issue for a while, didnt know which color to put on or to just leave it, so i just got the red.. then went with the silver as a test and it worked out great. Its hard matching up the dark blue with anything, it was either silver or black.

PTP, i just covered everything with towels, as long as u make sure the paint doesnt dip all over it your perfectly fine, just take your time and do it right the first time.

Looks great... I remember we had a discussion a long time ago about them red calipers... I never did mine either... I've come to conclude they are and ... I think the silver looks awesome on your car... might do silver or black myself when it gets warmer... most likely black...

Anyone want a red G2 paint kit? I have one for sale...
