new pics - let me know what you think

i used my spring break (this past week) to install my new eyelids, Evo5 front, Sarona rear, and raptor fenders. i got it all painted, but the shop didn't do a great job matching the paint. i also had the grilles painted black. let me know what you think!! check my cardomain page for more pics...

im definitely not feeling any part of the new body kit....the rear and the front are way overdone, and the paint really doesnt look too good....everything else looks good though! i like the eyelids and the blacked out/cleared HIDs...

the front looks okay but the rear and paint job are killing your car. Its way to light. It looks almost purple.

too flashy for my tastestoo many big empty holes in the car now maybe some grilles or something maybe a larger diameter exhaust tip would fill the big hole in the back.

Who did your paint and how much did you pay? They need to re-do that, just from the pics it looks off, must look even worse in person. I do like the car, it's a little extreme, but the color is definitely off. I hope you weren't rushing just to get it done in time for the meet.

A couple comments, since you are asking:

First let me say that I don't think the car looks "terrible" or anything - If it's the look you are going for, fine, but it needs some tweaking.....

1. although I'm not a big fan of that kit, but I'm assuming you're gonna keep it...so I'd say the front end would look decent if you did two things: -trim the bottom lip off the front kit...the part that sticks out "forward", and put in a turbo with an intercooler to fill up that big lower grille. Oh, also, not feeling the see-through main grille.....from a distance it just looks like you have no grille on the car at all!

2. the aforementioned paint matching...but you already know that

3. I absolutely HATE that rear end. The kit. The tail lights. I've always thought the sarona rear was one of the ugliest kits ever made...

4. if you're gonna have the really low front and back kit lips, you need to put some sides on it that are just as low...otherwise it looks wierd.

5. I DO like the wheels...very nice. Though with that kit sticking way out like taht, you might want to consider a wheel with a lower offset (30mm 8" width perhaps) so they will come out flush.

6. Repaint those calipers black. OEM calipers should not be painted red - they are small and ugly - you don't want to draw attention to them. An aftermarket BBK can be red, not stock calipers.

7. interior looks fine, although that marble dash kit is....well, at least it's original.

let me caveat all this by saying, I am of the school that performance comes before looks (all go or all show?). Your "performance" page lists an intake and that's all? But you seem to have done alot for looks. It's all up to your priorities, but I prefer to do a good amount of the performance stuff first and then worry about looks

I like it but the paint job has to go......it doesnt come close to matching. Also you need to get some big *** tips on the back like mine (dual 3-1/2"). But I like the body kit.

You also need side skirts to match the low front and rear end.

The body kit is killen the car. Other than that it is great. Unfortunatley the kit is a big part of the car seeing how it is all around it. Don't get pissed. Worse case you just have them repaint it so it at least matches.

the rear bumper looks outa place....but the front looks nice...if you paint the whole car black then maybe the whole bodykit would flow much nicer..but whatever floats your boat man...its definetly different

i'm fully aware that the kit needs to be repainted. when i picked up the car from the bodyshop, it was covered in snow from the night before. then i had to work the next two days and now i'm back in hartford with no plans to return to NH until atleast may. so to put it mildly, i'm screwed. anybody know a shop/person who can repaint this to match real cheap? help a fellow max owner out...

and i do know that i need side skirts. i bought some off a fellow orger, but they came all broken so i ended up sending them back. that's the only reason i don't have the side skirts on.

as far as the back bumper goes, i'll agree with you guys that it's not the best looking thing in the world. but with the front i have, the stillen rear lip would look ridiculous. the razor rear and the evo5 rear are horribly ugly. so i was going for the best of the worst i guess.

this summer, i'm planning to bring the car to an actual custom shop. have them repaint everything and rework the bumpers/fenders/trunk to line up perfectly.

i do like how the car looks now. i need to get it repainted asap and i'll be very happy with it. i know that it isn't to everybody's taste, but hey, to each his own. i'm going for a show car...i'm not real worried about performance. but thanks for all the feedback and keep it coming!!

It's just a little too much. With the type of rear facia you've installed, you really should think about adding some sort of aftermarket exhaust setup. The kits like this are just not my taste, but good luck with your future mods.

If you can get a specialty shop to alter the front kit, I think it would look very nice like this (sloppy photoshop job, sorry)...as-is I just think it's a little "much"

this reminds me of an audi S4 front end for some reason and I actually really like the way it looks in this photoshop

here's what yours looks like, for comparison's sake

i think if you go with the octane rear, it will match your front a lot better. Better to match than be a bad dresser. Maybe you should just go with the full octane kit, i dont think anyone on here has that yet.

Seems pretty original... but its not my thing... all the best with everything though...

Btw, you listed a performance chip somewhere in there with your intake... what exactly does it do?

Can you get the body shop to repaint it for free?

It's not even a close match. I actually kinda like it. It looks decent on your color car. I would see about getting it repainted though. That SSR turbo kit with intercooler would look real nice in that hole in the front bumper.

i'm sure that the body shop would repaint it for free, but my problem is..... they had the car for 3 days. i'm in hartford now and the only time i could go home is on a weekend and their closed on sundays. so even if they would fix it, i have no way to give them the car long enough for them to fix it. i'm kinda stuck...

puppetmaster - that "chip" i bought is a waste of time and money. the only reason i've left it on is because i don't feel like having to clear the SES code once it gets thrown.

get some sarona sides and your good to go.

personally i like that front bumper but cutting the exess rice on the bottom, just like irish photoshopped it.

Maybe you should consider doing what irish has done to ur car.

As for the paint job, i know how you must feel.

If you check my side skirts carefully, they don't match the paint of the car.

i need to repaint the sides and also get a new front lip, since my current touring one is installed very wrong.

Figured as much, cuz if it worked, we'd have heard of it by now... seems that TS is still the way to go... anyways, sucks to hear that man... what codes will ya throw if ya take it off? Sounds bad to me... considering that it'll mess up something in your engine management if ya pull it out...

I like the front bumper and yeah you need some side skirts.

Paint is deinitly a redo.

Remember its what you like so if you can llok at your car and say wow I like it then that is all that matters.

sorry to hear about the color matching, i would personally take it back. im feeling the front of the kit, but the back is a little too extreme for my taste.

not a fan of the kit either. the front isn't too bad but the rear is terrible. The rear diffuser is ridiculous.....but if you're going for the show car look, it might work and good luck.
