Spring is here time for headers.

I have been sitting on my cattman headers since Oct. Now that spring is here they are going on wednesday. I have the greddy and hope I can deal with it. I won't be able to do a berfore dyno but will be able to do a after. But I do have a previous dyno of 185 HP.

i believe i remember seeing your last dyno was in 2nd gear, the reason your torque was low. you may want to do a run to compare to that but try to get them to dyno in 3rd. just put o/d off and have them run it to 65 or so and hit it from there. that would be the best way to compare to other 5th gen 3.0s. i am sure you will enjoy them and get ready for a significant increase over the y pipe.

They did run it to 60-65 then punched it, but didn't keep O/D off. Is that the best way to dyno an auto. If so I will have to hook that back up.

All i gotta say is get ready for a long install. It isn't a technical install by any means, but just frustrating working in real tight spaces. Remember, think small!

Having a performance shop do it. I have given them all the info from all others here to help. He says he can do it in 4 hours even thought his service manual says 10 hours. When I disscussed it he quoted me $250. We'll see after it's done.

crank power was rated at 222hp but that will never see the road (in a stock 2k/2k1) when you factor in things like drivetrain loss. autos in just about every case will lose more power than a manual of the same of the same car/year. the 185 he is talking about was his actual wheel horsepower which is put to the asphalt. when you factor in drivetrain lose you are left with the car is actually putting out with his mods.

thats an auto with mods. his dyno is in the dyno forum and i think thats with a cattman y, injen cai and greddy rear section. i think it was 185hp and 171tq but from what i understand, they tried to dyno in 3rd but it probably kicked down and went to 2nd.

There on and with the greddy it don't sound that bad to me. Total cost to install $340.00 and he worked on it since this morning just got it now. It's raining here so I can't get anything as of right now but just wait a couple days.

i sware when i say this is a hard install without a lift it sux. I have installed all of my mods(sometimes not successfully ) and this made everything else seem as routine as scratching your nuts

Damn, I did mine in less than 2 hours with other things like oil change Probably the most frustrating thing for you 00 people is the EGR valve. My shop allows me to work on my own car after we close for bussiness- 5PM, I was driving home at 7:45 after washing up and putting all the tools away I will do headers for 250 all day long on 3.0Ls without an EGR valve- thats 2001s only :P

Give Greddy bout a week or so till it breaks in with the headers and starts to make nasty raspy noises. It will make you wanna ditch it in a jiffy !!

I didnt lie It was supper EZ to do on a lift :P I still have no AC thou, I hope to regain that comforting feature of my car sometime this week before the heat wave hits us. I'm doing a set of headers on a 02 6spd next, after my boy hears how the Cattman exhaust sounds with HS headers- since hes got a Cattman exhaust on his. I don't expect any troubles with it

Yeah but put it this way how much does your dealership pay you an hour to do work on other cars. They said he was on it since the morning but I don't know what time he started on it but lets say he worked on it for 8 hours. Add that up and i still got a better deal then what I would of gotten taken it somewhere else. I am waiting for those mossy sound clips.

I have that exact setup (hotshot headers, cattman catback). Let your boy know it sounds pretty awesome .
