(a) I don't think there is a recall for this. Go to the Nissan website. You will find recalls on the TSBs there.

(b) If you are covered by an extended warranty, then why do you even need a recall? Tell them what is happening and they will have to cover it under the agreement in the warranty.

(c) You might wanna leave you the fact that you boast of "flooring it" to the dealer...

Transmission slips, eh? I had that problem, like the car surged..it droopped down a gear or two. It happened after one hour of driving. I posted this problem in late Janaury. I can report that the dealer, after 4 attempts found the solution....a new throttle position senor and a 22620-4m511 switch, whatever that is.

Cool (pun) Canadian Maxima

I have the same problem - when the car is cold (morning), and if I have to nail it to clear traffic leaving my subdivision, the car will rev normally through 1st then the shift to second takes place really sloooooowly. This has become progressively worse over the past few months.

Took it to the dealer, they diagnosed bad VB and replaced it. Zero improvement...have to take it back, but haven't yet because the tranny works fine after about ten minutes of warm up. So dunno...

For me, my transmission won't gear into fourth even when I'm going 75mph for a good 10-15 minutes. So I'll have a car revving around +3k when it shouldn't be at that speed. It only happens when I first use the car in the morning. Should this be of concern to me? I mentioned it to the dealership last time I was there, and they said it was normal for that to happen.

Hopefully this is a joke? If that really happened, your service guy is a ****.

No way that's normal, haven't ever seen that in either of my Max's.

I have a 2001 that's slipping at part throttle shifts (around 4000 rpm shift points), but at full throttle it shifts quickly. I have to believe there is some kind of transmission control problem, as opposed to the transmission.

How can the TPS be bad and the ECU not pick up on it?
