Okay, now its annoying me. At first I thought the popping sound I was hearing was just temporary, but it will not go away!!!! Its driving me nuts! anyway, it mainly happens when I accelerate from a stop and when I brake to a stop. Its worse when I accelerate from a stop and sometimes will "pop" when I hit a bump or that whole body roll thing happens that we all love so much.
In trying to describe the sound, I can tell you that it sounds exactly like the keys on a keyboard being pushed, but a little more resonating. It just pop, pop, pos to its hearts content. I cant seem to find the source of the noise, although it might have something to do with the window. The sound seems to be coming from the back part of the door where it meets the B pillar. (And yes, Ive made sure its not because of not shutting the door all the way. I just have no idea where to begin to look to fix it. Any ideas???

is it just a single pop? if so i have this noise. when i accelerate it pops...then when i brake it pops. maybe more of a click sound...
Yes. A pop or click, almost something metallic or very hard plastic. But mine is several pops. Sometimes it pops more than other times, but I honeslty have no idea what it is...

lol...I read "Diver's side door making..." and instantly cilicked on here thinking it was about fiberglassing...you can tell where my mind is
Anywho, it might be the moisture barrier located behing the door. I would suggest taking the door off and peeking around to see if anything is loose.

It could be your door hinges are loose or warn out. On my old car it made a creaking popping noise whenever I accelerated or braked and the body shop told me it was my door hinges. If you stand by the car and open the door if you can move the door up and down at all your hinges might be bad. Hope this helps

so I guess we should have made an entry on the "you know youre a 5th gen owner if..." of something like......"...you have to drive with your left knee firmly placed against the door just to stop the rattles."

hey dude you got a noise in your door huh--try isolating where this noise is comming from--what i do when i get a squeek and rattle at the dealer--the first thing u can do is take the door panel off and check all the bolts nuts and screws to make sure they are all tight---while the door panel is off try driving it around to see if it makes the noise without the door panel on- if it does it can not be the door panel. and if it making noise while ur driving try to listen for a location--u said that the noise is comming towards the rear of the door look and see what is in the area--I usually just start taking stuff out untill the noise goes away--or for a faster fix try holding on to something. sometimes putting pressure on items can make the noise disappear---well the most i've seen with door noises is the window regulator bolts loose--I've also seen the clips fall off tryin to put the door panel back on and roll around--hope that helps--sorry for the lengthy post
okay guys, tried everything brought up besides driving around with the door panel off, but its still there. Its a very metallic sound, like rubbing to pieces of metal together for a split second over and over and over again. Im really bummed....it sux

i need to brign this thread back to life. This is driving me nuts. Someone has to know how to fix this crap. And why is it only one door?
Not sure, but yes I still have the same problem. Ive just given up cause im ripping out the interior in a couple of weeks to install some Cascade and the door panels gots to come off anyway. I figured ill tighten everything and add extra padding if need be. We'll see how that one goes...
Well, im not gonna use Dynamat, so I dont know how different the application may be. But as far as I know, you will strip anything off of the dor thats not metal and just build your way back up.
mine is getting worse and worse. im taking a trip to myrtle beach soon and think im gonna rip apart the door before i go. i dont want to listen to that for 700 miles there and 700 back. let me know if you find anything
ok...had my car at the dealer for 4 hours working on where this is comming from...what i can tell is the door hinge is getting worn and the gobs of torque we put down on acc/ then on dec...the chassis is flexing causing the front or rear door, most likely front to move on the strike point. it is driving me nuts too, so i am glad to know i am not the only one with this prob! don't let nissan use their felt tape...5 inch long pcs=$10! hope this helps...see if the dealership will replace the hinges. i was told it was a common issue that nissan doesn't know how to make good hinges! maybe the solution...just the drivers door first though. no sense in spending money you don't need to.
