Cleaning MAF

Sorry, I can'y search, but does anyone have a write up for cleaning the MAF, because I don't even know where it is. And those of you who have replaced it, did you goto Nissan to get it and have it done or what? Thanks.

You can replace it yourself. Its easy, i don't think you can clean it. When it goes bad you have to replace it.

Its the first part straight after your airbox, its about 4inch long tube like thing with a hotwire in the middle and a metal grill at the airbox end.

i doubt you can clean the hot wire itself, but you could probably clean some of the gunk of the metal grill.

You can see it on mine, its before the pod filter (next to the hose clamp), has pinkish stick on it and electric cable going into it.
