for 10+ grand, you can get a max that hasn't been modded and is really an SE. Why offer him more when with mods a car is worth less? Plus, you don't know the quality of how the mods were installed. They could have been installed by monkeys and are on the verge of falling off or something.

This is silly, but it is a difference...

The over head handles for passengers inside the car are different between GXEs and SEs.

Right. Just spend the money on the mods you like and forget about trying to make it look exactly like an SE. The wheels, spoiler and fogs are nice. I bought my 2K GXE new, spent $300 on ebay for SE rims, $350 on an OEM spoiler installed and $150 on fogs. The rest of the mods are a waste of money. Who needs white gauges unless you really like them? Dark tail lenses for $250 - do I really need them? I also picked up the Anniversary door sills for $60 - it was worth it. Replaced the stock stereo with a Pioneer CD/Cassette with wired CD changer in trunk. I also bought SE badging but didn't install it - wouldn't be ethical.

Also, even if you made your GXE exactly like an SE you would still have to sell it as a GXE. It's in the VIN number. Selling it as an SE would land you in jail for fraud.

True but he'd have a b i t c h of a time trying to locate an 02-03 GXE. The vast majority were SE with only 5% being GXE (thank you Altima 3.5SE).

If your deal falls through let me know. I still have my car for sale and I could probably match the price you are looking at on the other GXE. Mine only has 46k miles on it and I have a bunch of new parts (some not even installed). Let me know.

GXE vs SE

As others have suggested, focus on the condition of the vehicle and the quality of the install on the mods. The dash is where the GXE comes across as "cheap" to me, but if you're going to customize it for you, who cares.

The GXE is WIRED for fogs; they just don't come with them as stock. Added Angel Eyes to mine without too much difficulty, though they're now driving lights (and are re-wired as such) rather than fog lights.
