HELP!! front brakes
I just went to change my front brake pads, and found that i dont need to change them right now (well sorta). when i pulled the inside pad on both sides the center of the pad is not worn very much but the edges are worn alot more. i used a depth micrometer to measure the difference in the groove recesion between highest and lowest points and the difference is just over 1.5mm. my rotors are of course mirror images of this. I am just wondering if this is normal at all. i dont think it is. but i can see how it happens because the piston is larger than the padcreating an uneven pressure. i was thinking of getting new rotors anyway, so my second question is should i replace the pads now and hope for the best or just wait to get the slotted rotors and replace everything at once?
i cant get the pics in
i have them on my digital but cant import them. let me know how if you know.

I've never had it happen on mine. I have original rotors on my '03 (108k miles) and they (the pads) wear evenly. I think you may have an install problem. there's no way that the brake pad could cause a cup on the rotor the way your describing it.

Brembo D/S and Axxis Ceramic Pads
I replaced my brakes about a year ago and got away from the OEM rotors and pads. I put Brembo D/S rotors and Axxis Ultimate Ceramic pads and haven't looked back. I have put about 25K miles on them and they work great. Smooth braking and little or no fade. My cars stops great. Ceramic pads produce much less dust and the rotors don't wear out near as quick. I will never go back to stock.
