Looking for write ups on Bose + Climate Control Bulb Chnage out

Sorry for this post, I searched through the How-To's and searched the forum with both google and yahoo, but can't seem to find these write ups.

EDIT - I found the radio write up, now I'm just lookin for the climate control. Thanks in advance.

if he wants to share the info then he will.

The "buddy" in question is me. As Jason noted, it took a sh1tload of work, a broken climate control unit, know-how for soldering, wiring, and some customizing. Bottom line is: once you do what I did, yoIu cannot make your climate control back to stock colors without a TON of effort.

I could have done the Bose the same way, but chose to switch to an aftermarket deck instead. The Bose would have been 3x as hard as the climate control, I might add, due to very tight fits.

All that said, I did not do a writeup. This is not because I don't want to "share" (I have done quite a few write-ups on other things), but for a few reasons:
1. I didn't take any pics when I was doing it, and it is VERY hard to explain how it was done
2. There are probably better ways of doing it
3. It still isn't perfect (one bank of LEDs went out last night AGAIN, so I have to open it up again and do some re-soldering).

So...that said, don't expect a write-up from me anytime soon (or ever). One other org'er HAS done it also, and has a write up (don't ask me where to find it). Essentially, you need alot of 3mm LEDs, wires, solder, dremel, drill/bits, and a VERY steady hand. If you're afraid of ruining your climate control (and having to spend several hundred $$ for a new one), don't even bother.

I will give you guys one clue as to how I did it, and let you figure it out from there:

btw...PLEASE do NOT IM/PM me with questions - as I said before, I can't really "explain" how to do it, and (for once) I'm not going to try....If you're gonna do this, you're gonna have to figure it own on your own...

Please note that I did the full-LED setup. You can do the "ghetto" color change by using a blue sharpie on the inside of the buttons and the ends of the clear light grid to get a "blue" color. For red, the only way is to use LEDs...
