car is not starting up clean
car is not starting up clean
I started my car today and it took 3 tries to get it on. By the 3rd it sank down to 200 rpm(yes 200rpm) and it kicked it self back up. The oil light came on for a second but went away. Now ive filled up my oil but its a little over "Full" now is that ok? I also got my spark plugs chagned at pep boys but i think the plugs they gave me were bad. I had to go back to them for one plug already for the swap they did 3 months ago. Even after putting oil in there, the oil light still flashes during start up and its still not a clean start up. Any suggestions?
Make sure oil is not past max mark on dipstick (important). Your oil light could be coming on because of your low revs. The MAF could be screwed even without the SES. Before I changed my MAF I got crappy starts but the car would still wind out. New MAF and reprogram is night and day.

i just thought of this...could it be my fuel injectors? I mean i used a fuel injector cleaner about 4 thousand miles ago. but im wondering if i should try it again? I used this "Red line Complete Fuel System Cleaner" It's instructions are to put in a little for everytime you fill up your tank for a lifetime of effiecient cleaning. Should i do this again? I want to try Chevrons fuel injector cleaner with TEchtron. Is it safe to put one cleaner in and use a different kind 4000 miles later?

Sounds like the same problem I had on my 300ZXTT. I went to pep boys to buy sparkplugs and they didn't have NGK's so the guy working there told me that Bouch were just as good(and my dumb *** believed him). Anyway I bought them and installed them and my Z ran like dog sh*t. Took the plugs out and found 2 fouled out so I replaced them and it ran OK for about a week and started running like sh*t again. I called Nissan and they told me Nissan's don't run right on any other type of plug, other than the NGK's that come OEM. My suggestion is to take them plugs out and replace with NGK AND NEVER TAKE YOUR NISSAN BACK TO PEP BOYS!
