Hello all, so I guess I am pretty ignorant here, but can someone fill me in on this paint problem? From what I understand, there is a problem with the paintjobs on the2K Maximas, especially in Black. I have a Super Black 2K Max, and I've got almost 35K miles on it already and I am not experiencing any problems.

Is this happening at a specific location on the car? Is it just the edges, or is is more extensive? Have the dealers been responsive at all with fixing this problem? could this be a climate thing--maybe a more humid climate would produce this paint problem?

If someone could fill me in on this, I would appreciate it. I am assuming that since I have a Black 2K Max, that this may be an issue for me in the future.

Thanks,
Adam

Read the whole paint thread to know the story. Yes, it happens to all the cars because of the type of paint they use. Welcome to our world or paint chipping.

Adam...

I have reasons to believe that you are neglecting your car!!! hehe... j/k

But honestly though, if you have driven highway miles, and you have washed your car like crazed maniacs like us, then you should have noticed the paint chips on the front of the hood.

Or maybe you're in shock or is trying to repress the memories...
