Gettin ready to shoot across the desert back to L.A. in search to match or better my personal land speed record and was lookin to find the top speed of my '00 Maxima SE. If any of you would like to save me a ticket or quite possibly, jail time(or worse), could you share your experiences with this subject? How fast have you reached? Is there a governor? Do the wheels fall off at 105?

OK, since the 3 of you winners can't be mature enough to answer a simple question. Why don't you actually try to go faster then your mommy, and then you can let me know how it goes.

 

The speed at which this thread gets locked is much quicker than any Maxima

 

governor tops out at like 130-135. fastest ive gone in mine was like 115-120. maybe not the question itself but the way you posted the question makes you a tool.

No, it was the question. There have been so many of these "what is your top speed" threads and they all get locked, because IT'S NOT SAFE & IT'S STUPID.

governor shuts off at 134. I have made it to 130 easy on my stock suspension with the 16" steelies and "H" rated tires. I would say that if you are going to go that fast, do it when there aren't other people on the road. The only time I go faster than 80-85 is when it is like 1 am and no one is on the road. That way, if I get into trouble, I am the only one who gets hurt. I think I answered your question. For future reference, the majority of the people on the forum do not take kindly to people who ask things like, "What is the top speed, or can I remove the governor, etc." Occassionally you'll find someone like me who drives similar to you and will answer your question. But prepare for ridicule, insults, and maybe worse for asking these questions. Just FYI

I put a spork on the front tire, every time it hits the fender per second = 10mph... I stuck my head out the window and counted.

 

That's why there are race tracks.

governer shuts off the I30 at 143. i took it up to 121 the other day on a fenced in road so it was me taking my life into my hands maybe a love bug or two also but im safe, and prob wont ever do it again
