HID conversion or Xenon suggestions

I was thinking about a HID conversion for my 2000 SE, but they are a bit pricey. Has anyone used one that they can recommend and is it worth the $$$. How hard is it to install?

Outside of HID, any brands of Xenon that give a good comparable look?

I'm really just looking for something that gives it a light look similar to the later Maximas without having to spend a fortune.

Any help would be appreciated,

-Mike

2k2-2k3 HIDS

save up ur 6-800 bucks and get these

then get the wiring harness from a nissan dealership or at courtesyparts.com

u will also need 2k2-2k3 headlight clips (about 5-10 dollars)

then install

then save up again and get angel eyes and clear ur blinker

then get hid fogs..

o wait, thats what i did

And if you do decide on buying a HID kit you would be better of just buying the OEM 2k2 or 2k3 headlights. Ive heard from many many guys on the org that its the way to go. That way youll jsut have to install the headlamp and the HID will already be in place.

Figure I will throw in my $0.02. On a HID retrofit.:

This option is somewhere in the middle of those mentioned above...About $150.00 more than a
H4 HID kit but about $150. less than 2K2-3 HIDs. But this rout will provide the best light output, beam
pattern and cutoff sharpness/color. The aesthetics of the projector headlights have been argued both
ways and a is a matter of personal taste.

$250.00-Aftermarket projector headlights new- eBay
$ 60.00 -04 MDX Acura headlights used- eBay
$100.00-matsushi.ta ballasts (unlabeled) new- eBay
$ 55.00 -Phillips 5000K D2S hid capsules used- eBay
$ 15.00 - odds and ends for retrofit home depot
$ 9.00 - 21K mcd LEDs (optional Halo upgrade) new-eBay
$ 0.00 - MDX projector retrofit/LED write-up my homepage
+ $ 0.00 - 3-5hrs & some elbow grease you
$489.00 (give or take)

you may be able to find used headlight for under $200- I. you would be lucky to find the that price on new ballasts,(I was). The MDX projectors are halogen but work great w/ D2S HID bulbs, and come w/ a gasket & bezel used in the retrofit. But another $30-40 will get you a (better??) set of real HID projectors. The ease, small cost and large improvement: mandate the LEDS get swapped while the headlights are apart.

I appreciate all of the input guys...lot of options here.

If I decide to retrofit the 2000 with a set of 02 or 03s, will they just slide in there? Everything is the same shape and size?

thanks, but the how-to actualy needs to be updated, after i wrote it i found a better way to mod and mount the MDX projector, that solved some small issues w/ the retro and gets more color from the projector.
If you search for "MDX projector" on hidplanet.net you should be able to find the a thread or two by me, w/ pics of the what was done differently.
