I installed a Transgo shift kit a couple of weeks ago (~1 full day job). If your gonna boost or use nitro I would recommend the Transgo shift reprogramming kit, inline filter and aux oil cooler. If you need more help just PM me! I guess us I30 owners aren't so useless after all.

If you want plug and play go with the maxtuning kit as mentioned in the previous post, but you have to send your VB to them or pay their refundable core deposit. It's as easy as droppin the pan, removing VB bolts, swapping the shift solenoids and bolting it all back together again.

There was another VB mod offered by mobiltek but their link doesn't work anymore.

(Ahh! That's why)

Pay the core, but you do get it back after you send it to them How much was yours all together, and how does it perform, does it get annoying after a while? Are you boosted?

I am not running boost, just wanted firmer shifting. The shift kit, oil cooler and inline filter cost me ~$100 + 1 days worth of work. If you run boost you should get the shift reprogram kit, but the guy at transgo said it can be a real tire chirper. Since I wasn't running boost or nitrous I opted for the shift kit. Check the links in my post for more info. If your gonna do this mod you should really test the shift solenoids as they are prone to failure (there's a TSB on this). You are also going to have to adjust the trans brake band (2 1/2 turns from snug).

Shift solenoid test (post #21). You should also hear the solenoids click when you apply 12 volts to pins 1-5 as depicted in the link below.

Also, check to make sure your dropping resistor has a resistance of 10-15 ohms.

What did you wind up paying for the Maximum tuning VB mod? The Transgo shift kit comes with a new band apply servo spring set-up, does the Maximum tuning mod come with that as well? Did you get an aux cooler?
