and the one at fedex field is a bunch of young punk kids in their riced out cars thinking its a drift contest. no actual driving ability. they just want to slide and squeal their tires

Great video for a first time putting it all together. Wish I had skills like that.
One idea I've wanting to try is to combine the in-car and outside into the same footage. Like a picture-in-picture maybe with the outside shot up in the corner. That way you can see the body roll, drivers hands, etc. while seeing the car pitch and turn at the same time. Just a wacky thought.

...send me the raw footage. I have this urge to redo that video, considering you have external and internal video.

Also, your first autocross?

here's some videos of me autocrossing my autotragic
Video 1 (external video)
Video 2 (internal video)

Jason has the vids....but they are not the same run, so they won't necessarily match up correctly...one of the runs was 1.5 secs faster than the other one...then again, I've seen what you can do with vids (love the CRX ones especially)

Not my first autocross, but my first one in about 10 years and my first in a boat like the maxima....in the mid-90's I used to autocross my 1970 Triumph GT6 Mk2 with SCCA and some classic car groups.....

Frankly, I think the maxima did ok, and if I had a couple more runs, definitely woul have been putting up similar times to most of the M3's and Imprezas, believe it or not.... (I also ran every run with a passenger)

I am putting together a camera mount for next time, so Jason doesn't have to hold it during the run

I guess I could but I'd have to put my stock rims/tires back on since my front right wheel is still bent from this past winter.

There are tons in Utah. E-center, like twice a month. And there are national races in Wendover. Go on the SCCA website and look at the Utah Region. Google Utah Autocross too, you will be surprised.

Looks like a fairly EZ course to get around, but problem I would have is getting lost. Looks like you go around the course 3 times or something like that and then enter the time box. Looking pretty good thou Josh ! My local autoX club hasn't had a single event yet- and I hate runing SCCA cause they consider my car heavily modified and pit me against cars that will kill me.

Its alright thou, I'm trying to score me some Warpspeed subframe connectors, stage 3. I am off to a road race track after that.

that looked like a fun course to drive on.. not as many hairpin turns as the ones i've been too.. and looks safer too. they make us stand out there to pick up cones. it gets kinda scary sometimes.
