Grill-tech inserts

Ok, so for some reason I can't post a new thread under Group Deals so I'm posting it here (sorry mods). Who wants Grill-tech inserts for a discounted price? All they want is three or more people. Here are the prices I was quoted:

a.. 02-03 MAXIMA three-piece (2-piece BUMPER and UPPER) Grille Insert set - $79.99 shipped

b.. 02-03 Maxima 2-piece LOWER BUMPER Grille Insert set - $39.99 shipped

c.. 02-03 Maxima UPPER Grille Insert - $39.99 shipped

Anyone who is interested let me know!

Thanks for the info. Epacy, they won't drop the price any lower than 39.99.

Some of your posts get a little thin in the mixture...

Well, ****!
So, you need three confirmed before one can buy?

ok, i guess with that said, i won't be buying myself these unless someone can prove goldmax wrong (not saying what you said isn't true. i would just like some more feed back. can anyone else verify grill-tech's grill quality and is it worth buying?

I bought the 3-piece set from eBay over a year ago and am very satisfied. It looks great and has not rusted yet. After I switched to it from the stock grille I got a lot of compliments from friends and people who had seen the car before and after. It's worth the price if you ask me.

Take into consideration that Goldmax and you both live in New York where we get all types of crazy weather and you cant compare the condition of grilles to someone from say florida. Anyway i heard many stories of the mesh rusting even with clear coat, i guess if you really want them get them and hope for the best. BTW 40 shipped is not a great price.

yeap i was just gonna say that..
the weather plays a roll.. up to winter the grille was fine not a single rust point on it.. but with the salt and ice on it almost thought out the whole winter. it rusted. dont get me wrong .. i liked the look specially with the nissan badge on it. but rust does not look good...lol
still cant get used to having my stock grille back on but until i find an alternative ohh well.

Well here is a shameless plug for my grill project I've been so diligently working on... I have made my own grill and currently have 15 more in production, these will be the "diamond" style ones. I have 1 perforated material one left, they are made from aluminum, won't rust and easy to polish when oxidized. Ii'm not really set up to sell yet, but will be soon, if you want one you can e-mail me and we could work something out. Please see this page for more info.

I just order the (3) piece complete set off of Ebay on Monday for $64.99 plus $12 s/h; i.e. $76.99 I was hesitant about ordering since everyone says they rust, but I wanted to find out for myself. Also, I took into consideration that I'm in the south, and mostly everyone complaining about rust seemed to live in colder climates where salt on roads from harse winters would play a significant role in rust forming. I opted for the Race in Black style. I thought it looked better than the Diamond. Who knows...I hope it looks good on silver and is NOT made like cheap crap!!...Ill update when I get them in.

Doesnt look too bad actually, what is the material around the actually mesh thats protects the paint, i forgot the name. Also i think the grille would look much better if you were to put a nissan badge on it.

Mine has been on for almost 2 years now & I have had ZERO rust issues with it. All it needs is some constant TLC.

i've had mine for about 8 months and havent really paid much attention to it. when i was detailing my car with Sizzo718 this past weekend i noticed that it is starting to rust.

people can't just pay attention to others saying whether their grille has rusted or not. you also have to state if you got a silver one or painted black since the black one will not rust as easily.

i personaly have the silver one and i'm considering spray painting it silver after i clean off the rust.

if that project doesn't work out too well then i'm thinking of getting a street scenes grille but i don't think they're available for the 5.5th gens.

I'm going to use the leftover material from the 15 I'm getting to do some bottom ones for myself. I have to figure out how to attach them to the car securely, if it is easy enough, I'm goint to make some of the lower ones as well. About the Nissan symbol on the front, I agree that it may look better with one, but I have not been able to find one that I like, I almost bought one off of e-bay, however it was smaller than I wanted, anyone know where to pick one up that is the same size as the OEM grill emblem that will stick to my grill?

thanks,

dg

Ok, so I've gathered a few options where some say these grills have been fine through the duration of it's life (so far) and others who have said they rust. The number of people who posted cons about them also seem to out number those who praised the grill. At this time I'm still not sure whether to buy these or not.

Are there any others who can please provide their input? Thanks in advance.

rich, if you paint them then i'm sure you won't have any problems. i'm probably going to paint mine in two weeks so i'll let you know how it turns out. if you'd like. now if i can only figure out what kind of paint is best to use...

I had ordered both upper and the two piece lower. Easy install on both parts. I however did not, at all like the way the upper looked because of the post that is visable from the front. Even if it was blacked out like the instructions suggest, I doubt it would have made much of a difference, and since I have a Sheer Silver, I opted to put the stock main grille back one and leave the lower grille on. Just my thoughts.
