Ouch, that's gotta hurt. Did you take the tail lights off the car? When I did mine I just left them in and sprayed in short bursts.

As far as if they can be opened, yes they can, but I can't tell you how to do it properly. Not too sure if that can be fixed or not.

yeah i bought a pair off a member on here so that i would have an extra set and would not have lights on my car if i did mess them up but this is really stressing me out!!! i have a product that will remove the paint and not damage the plastic but i need to get the light open to do that!

Damn that sucks man..... I don't have any suggestions for you as far as fixing that but I can tell you that unfortunately you can't get the tails open by heating them, cutting them is the only way of getting them apart...

I am not sure man, all I know is that many have tried to get the tails open to try to put LEDs in there, many ruined the tail completely in trying to cut it, only one member that I know (Playero) of has successfully opened the 5th gen tail cutting it with a dremel around the back edges, but I don't think he ever got it back together.... Sorry bud...

You cannot open the OEM light. If you look at mine you will see where I cracked mine on the bottom left light. The very first guy to do the red tail light before me was 'emax95' and he went through something like 3 sets. One day he came up with the paint idea and it worked. We all used the VANS paint and left the lights on the car. Using very short bursts it works well.

Sorry to hear you messed up the light, but my advice is to bite the bullet and get a new set. Even better if you can go through a junk yard to get another one.

I have a place I use to get my parts and they are great....

i ruined a tail light by spraying too much, i had a lot more paint come through than that, i bought a used light from ebay only 50 bucks... did it again, went very slow, used short bursts, and let the paint dry inbetween.. thats the best advice i could give....i can still c a lil orange around the edges and in some angles you can tell its not completely red, but its good enough for me....

why would u spend all this money to get lights when u can get them so much cheaper and customize it yourself if you really wanted to? i just dont see the point in spending 200 on tail lights
