Car stopped for 7 weeks, problem.
I was away on vacation and I left the car in my garage. Before I left for vacation the battery had drained a couple of times and I had to get jumped.
While I was away my dad would go every 4 or 5 days to just turn the car on. He said he went one time and the battery was dead, since it was already 3 years old he had his mechanic go to my garage and put a battery in, but because of my aftermarket alarm going off they left one of the terminals disconnected.
Yesterday I got back and we connected the terminal. First the car started but died immediately after. Then I started it and revved it a bit and it was fine. Than while driving the idle would go real low to about 500 and the car actually died once. After drivin around a bit it got better but it's still idling a bit low.
Anyone know what could be the cause of this?

ever consider just doing a general reset. or maybe throwing some cleaner into the car to give it that extre pep. i would start off with a general ECU reset. and fyi, if it was an DEI alarm (viper, etc..) you can disable the alarm by opening the driver side door and pressing arm, disarm, arm, and it goes into valet mode.

I'd seafoam the gas and oil and use the last third in the intake (vacuum hose). It'll stabilize the gas and oil taking the water out and clean up the gunk in the intake. Should solve the problem. (FYI: I had the same until I used Seafoam)

How many miles have you put on it since? I am guessing that the ECU needs to "relearn" everything since the battery was disconnected for so long (A/F ratios, idle, throttle position, etc.). I say keep driving her and see.

So far I have driven it about 60 miles. The only problem now is that it shuts off right after I start it, when the engine temperature is normal. If i rev it when starting it will stay on but the idle will still be low.
If the car is cold, it starts and stays on.
Where can I find this Seafoam product, and what is its function?
Just put the Seafoam in the gastank?
