Got my Ksport Coilovers today *56k warning*
jinsu: Why not run an actual Group Deal here on the .org? Why only offer a certain price for a couple weeks? Since your goal as a business is to maximize sales, I would think this would make sense. As you saw, there was around $20K tied up in that last GD. If you start a new one now, as people start getting their money back, they'll be all over yours. Maybe not 100% of them, but I'm sure a good percentage of them will hop over, since they've been wanting this part for so long, and already dedicated funds to getting them.
Urban Import is the D2's US distributor and has stepped in to resolve the problems as ADV went bankrupt and took everyone's money. I tried to get sponsorship of this site to start an offical GD but seems like the system isn't functioning. UI is my D2 supplier and doesn't ususally deal with consumers directly but this is a special case. So if ppl in the GD still want D2 then they should contact UI, if there are ppl that would like Ksport then please contact me.

i emailed the admins and owner of this site and link they sent to me doesn't work. UI sells D2 near retail, dealers gets discount price so we can make profit by offering lower price. Yes it's kinda weird but that's just how D2 move products.

what do your struts and springs look like right now??? It would probably be pretty close.
$740
I would also like to say that price is prettty good. When you think what the Illumina/H&R combination goes for, it is a good deal if they are durable. I will be trying to raise money for these to get rid of that gap.
the body of ths supension are made out of aluminium so they will not rust. The bolts and threads are zinc electroplated. You probably will get some surface rust if you don't maintain them often. I have Ksport on my own ride and I live in Michigan so i am not much better from canadian winter. The coilovers last jas long as the stock suspension if not any longer under normal driving conditions. has 1 year warranty. each shock is rebuildable by KsportUSA for $100 each. For more detailed info please visit www.ksportusa.com
maybe your impact gun is too weak to break that bolt loose, i know my friends gun is rated at 600 ft/lb while i just bought a new one which is rated at 1000 ft/lb, the extra 400 ft/lb of torque really helps you break some bolts loose that you normally dont with a regular air gun...

here we are.. the bottom bracket looks better to me, i like the alan screws to secure it rather than just a lock nut. and the slider on the strut id fully covered and protected not just around the seals. i just trust them more.
i hope the pics show up if not here is a link to my CarDomain page

There is nothing wrong with the design of the mount as we have sold many of them before and had no problem what's so ever. The dust cover is designed the same way as Tein, HKS, Tanabe, JIC and jsut about every other Coilover maker out there. But since you seem to prefer the D2 perosnally then I will take the ksport back.

D2 says it has, they said there was an oil mix up on the last batch into the states and that was the problem. they said that they straitened it out.. that is one of the excuses that our coilovers were late in the GD.

not so much "bad" pillow ball mounts, just over torqued and under greased from the factory. people simply took them off regreased them and put them back on. thats the last i read. and some people had issues with the rubber piece that was on the ends of the springs saying they were too thin. i dont know if mine are updated, or if i should get new ones...i will have to read through the thread again.
D2 had some problems with their first batch and they should be fixed. Ksport have been selling the same coilover for awhile and had no problem with abnormal noises and the pillow ball mounts. Plus they are covered under warranty just in case if anything happens.

Both company makes qulaity parts, yes some had problem at the begining but should be fixed. Both company offers 1 year warranty so that you can feel confident about the quality. Jinsu is offering special deal on ksport for $740 shipped, D2 is selling at normal price of $950
for people that wish to order now just paypal to jinsupower@gmail.com along with your name, address, phone number and model year. Shipping usually takes about 10 days after receiving payment.
Allan screws on the D2s suck, after living in the midwest or anywhere with salt you will NOT be able to loosen them up- they will strip out and you will not be able to adjust them. I had that problem on my GCs. JIC has a locknut design on their shocks like Ksports and I like them better. I have FLTA2s and not D2 or Ksports, just chiming in my own personall oppinion.

i know what you are talking about for the alan screws and i already have a plan... i had this problem on my mountain bikes. the alan screws for the seat adjustment would literally "weld" itself to the aluminum frame. to fix this all you need to do it put some anti sieze lubricant on them, and everyonce in a while take them out and put some more on. also refering back to my mountian bike days is another reason i chose the D2's, the fact that the strut slider is COMPLETLY covered makes me happy. when i first got my SID fork, for my old mountain bike they had exposed sliders with only seals at the bottom. i had one leg of the fork get knicked my a rock and that was enough to allow all sorts of dirt into the inner-workings of the suspension. so i got protectors for the legs after that. i know it looks better to have shinny parts, however, you will never see the sliders that are covered when the car is lowered and i feel more secure knowing it is covered.
Good discussion guys!
Now what about reliability and the noise issue? Heard plenty of complaints about noise with the D2's (possibly fixable) but haven't heard anything like that about the K-Sports? Do they use the same types of gaskets and sleeves on the springs? Or different?

I personally have Ksport on my own car and they don't make any abnormal noises. no cluncking, poping or anything that wasn't there before. Besides, just about every manufacture besides D2 have the same kind dust cover as ksport, there is nothing wrong with them. it's just personal preference.
just took apart my d2's last night and saw for myself how inferior those pillow ***** are considering I had two other maxima pillowball mounts from kei office and JIC to compare. That is the source of my knocking and insane noise, people have been thinking its about tightening and putting more gasket material to prevent noise but they are wrong. I will post pics up when I get a chance.
i'd recommend people opt for the k-sports, they "look" more reliable.
