I just ordered a K & N air filter for my MAXIMA +4 HP, next step is the Ooglie CAI. I have to go to home depot tonight to buy supplies. I was thinking of taking out my driver side fog light and running a tube down to that opening. That'll be forced air. Has anyone done this yet??

$48.95...is that cheap enough?

The 4+ HP difference is an average which was arrived at using what we, in the engineering field, like to refer to as "Advanced Combinatronics"...or Advanced Counting...what I'm trying to say is...Don't count on it.

hmmm...I think u have to let the hose go underneath the car. It cant go thru the front b/c it is blocked by radiator, lower tight bar, and headlamp assembly. Even though u go thru the front, u will have a long hose with a lot of turns, which reduce the air flow and dynamic. But I still cant imagine a cyclops maxima with one fog light =)

check out Empz's OSCAI...he uses a ram air scoope. that gives a bit of improvment.

Pep Boys in Wilmington, DE has them for 39.99, and no sales tax. I would look around a autoparts stores. Or go to the K&N website and do a search on stores in your area that sell them. They will be cheaper than 50+ bucks.

The 4 + hp was a Maxima with HKS exhaust on it already. With the stock exhaust of the maxima will it be that much different then an aftermarket exhaust? I think you should be able to get the 4 + out. probably more on the 4 side then the +.

You just might be able to get 1, and if you are lucky, 2 HP out of a KN air filter. I haven't Dyno'd it or anything, but it is just a replacement air filter, nothing more.

I think the benefit of K&N is not really that 4hp...but the slightly increase in engine response

you will feel a gain with the K&N if you do the OSCAI. I took mine off before I went to the dealer yesterday just in case and had it off all today. I felt a pretty big hit in power, especially at highway speeds. I put it back on today.
