AT Tranny Fluid Change Problems, Done it?? COME ON IN! PLEASE!!!
hey guys well my friend and i did the AT tranny flush....everything went well....but now when im driving around i noticed when i come to a total stop for a few seconds and then let go the break and press on the gas, the engine revs up, but the car does not go....kind of like it not getting into gear.....is there some kind of break in period for the fluid??? or is something wrong. please help me, its kinda dangerous driving on hills....
Thats what happens when you change the fluid, or in your case, flush after so many miles... the tranny begins to slip. I changed the fluid on my '96 (154k miles) for the first time since 103k miles and the 1-2 shifts are as hard as driving with the drop resistor unplugged almost. I flushed and filled the fluid on my '02 a few weeks ago (43k miles) and it's fine. I didn't feel any good or bad changes.

7 quarts? Humm, The flush need at leat 10 quarts to get rid of all the oil that is inside the converter..... I think you didn't do the full flush..... and you have used oil and new oil mixed together........ Did you pull the hose out and flush out everything????
Always better to err to the side of caution, so it's probably good to drive easy on her. Do you know how much fluid you took out? I always start with that as a benchmark - measuring the amount of fluid that came out of the trans and then add as much, checking the dipstick afterward. Tranny slippage can definetly be caused by too little fluid.
I've changed my own ATF five times now (did it two weekends ago, in fact) and I've never had a problem afterwards. Did you change the filter screen? Did you see any particulate in the filter screen or in the bottom of the pan? Did your tranny fluid smell burnt? Was it pink, or was it slightly gray or brown in color?

I think you have done everything right but one last question is the amt drained equal to the quarts u put into the tranny including drain+flush? My suggestion is drive in low gears (<2K) for a while and then see if it improves, can you also check if the pan is getting hot -- some kind of block thro radiator.
