If prayer doesn't work, you can try selling your soul to the devil in return for a trouble-free MAF sensor. That's really the only option. Based on what other Org members have said, voodoo doesn't work. Neither does pixie dust. In fact, I think one guy's MAF failed because of pixie dust. Apparently, he didn't think happy thoughts.

I'd be interested in knowing whether sacrificing a virgin during the new moon and using her blood to clean the MAF would work. I could always mix the leftover blood with some Seafoam and add it to my gas afterward. One virgin probably has enough blood to do three or four Maximas.

You can spray it with electronic parts cleaner (lightly) let it dry and do it again. Try it if you know it's bad. If it aint broke then dont fix it.

this is quoted from another .org member some time ago...

"If your MAF is going BAD, the price is like $89 call DaveB 1-888-254-6060, tell him you are a Max Org member for a good discount"

There are quite a few thingys that u want to stay away from and top of the list is "Cleaning the MAF sensor"!!!!

If it is broke (there are enough threads out here for symptoms of a failure/replacement) get another one -- don't clean it and get stranded, my 2 cents.

I am in the same position. I bought a MAF cleaner from NAPA, but I can not remover the wire harness attached to it. I am afraid of breaking it, Mine is a Maxima 2000

you are kidding right??
you brought this back...when it was answered.
you arent even talking about the cleaner.
you took the time to search for this thread (which is about MAFs but not your problem) when it would have been quicker to post in the newbies thread
come on people

well i cleaned my MAF back in april, and close to 4000 miles later, my MAF still seems to be holding strong if not better. The reason i cleaned my MAF was because i installed an Intake. And there was alot of dust in the air, so i got some CRC MAF cleaner (as suggested by one of the .org membrs) and sprayed the hell out of it......It evaporates QUICK. My car has only pulled a code once, and it was for the O2 sensor WHICH was not bad, IT WAS DUE TO one of the small vacum lines attatched to my intake BREAKING because it was so short...So i picked up some hose from Advance Auto, and ive been good since June
