What should be the first 3 performance upgrades?

Thanks, just wondering what the first 3 upgrades for performance should be. I was thinking, Frankencar Cat Back Exhaust, Berk Intake, and Warpspeed Y - Pipe, what do you guys think?

Turbo, 20" wheels and neons! hhe j/k

Honestly. Y pipe, cold air intake and a rear swaybar would be my choices. I'd leave the catbacks alone until you hear how the Y sounds.

You will feel the difference even with normal driving.

strictly power mods....intake and ypipe combos are hard to beat.....no catback exhaust will give u the gains of an i/y combo....a catback is pretty overpriced and won't give u significant gains unless your boosted or spraying.....

if you just want power mods and ONLY power mods...then i say go for intake/ypipe/bpipe/stock muffler.....an intake only costs $150....ypipe $200 and bpipe around $200 too...total price will be around $550....if you decide to get the catback....plan to throw on another $200-$300 onto the total bill....and only gain 1-2hp and alot of noise....5th gen mufflers are designed very well from the factory....it will only become restrictive only if your all motor (cams, headers, high compression) or if your boosted (turbo, S/C)

honestly...if u are bone stock and plan for a quick upgrade....intake, addco RSB, and ebay FSTB will be a cheap and effective combo....

That is exactly what I'm running. The car is nearly stock but with around $400 worth of performance/suspension upgrades. I do want a y-pipe or b-pipe though because the intake is draining some power.

Good springs and struts or coilovers, follower by y-pipe, and underdrive pulley.

I believe the RSB is the first thing i would do. A straight axle in the rear should always have a sway bar. The chasis bends way too much with out it. The car feels like a boat swaying back and forth.

Anyone make a cam replacement with more aggressive timing and better low end torque? It would be nice to unlock the power in the motor that's up beyond the rev limiter.

skip the intake, nothing too noticeable anyways.

1. y-pipe
2. lighter wheels
3. full suspension (ftsb, rsb, spring/strut)

You won't fail emissions with one if ya let the car warm up to full operating temperature so the main cat is fully functional. Actually, for 5.5 Gens it doesn't matter cuz there are no pre-cats in the y-pipe anyway.... that only applies to the 5th Gens who lose a pre-cat in the stock y-pipe.

You should be fine in Mass with a y-pipe... but don't take my word for it...

Btw, for all those who asked about it, its in the FAQs:

I remeber with my 96 max the y-pipe eliminated the pre-cats which are used only when you first warm up your car. So if your warm up your car before you go to an emissions test you should be fine.
