Whats the best way to change the brakes without having a lift?

Here in a few days im changin my rotors out and need to know if it can be done correctly/safely without a lift. Any expierences, comments?

guess that should have been obvious. Are there any specific mounting points?

I have used a jack and the a nice large cement block!!
To cheap to buy stands, besides a cement block is safer in my opinion!

This may sound a bit sarcastic or whatever, but it's not meant that way, but if you not 100% sure on how/where to jack the car up, do you think taking on the task of changing out your brakes yourself is the best plan?

The brakes, im not doing. Im having one of my friends come over who well versed in brake repair. I just wondered for my own benefit.

If someone is going to try useing a cement block as a stand put a piece of wood on top between the block and the car, and make sure the block is right side up. They can crush very easily otherwise.

Thanks, I think I'm gonna stick with using a jack and stands.... but that's just me....

4 scisor jacks, one on each corner.
