aqueeky brakes

Ok i put new Brembo Slotted/Drilled rotors front and rear
with Axis ultimates pads front and rear on yesterday

i get a little squeek when i apply the brake pedal from 40mph and slower

when i slam on the brakes it works great no squeeks

also at low speeds it doesnt squeek??

any ideas, i am thinking it is the zinc coating o nthe rotors that needs to be worn out then it will stop

Got a little bit of this myself. Just put on new RTP rotors and Axxis/PBR Deluxe pads. I went out to "bed" the brakes. This involves several 60mph to 30mph stops. Afterward, the pads were pretty quiet.

However, the next morning, when slowing to a stop I get some vibration...like when the rotor/pad are wet. 70mph to 30mph or 40mph to 20mph slow down causes no vibration...but when coming to a stop they do. After driving for a while, this goes away.

Do the brakes need some more time to wear in the rotor?

my breaks squeel all the time under light braking. I just figured the pads needed replaced, but now I'm not sure...
I don't know how long the brakes have been on the car, I've only had it since September.

You have to use Nissan OEM pads on new rotors which are softer pads.

I just resurfaced my front rotors on Saturday at O'Reilly's and bought Wagner Thermo-Quiet Ceramic pads. They are quiet and they work great.

I had the same problem with my Brembo slotted/drilled rotors and Hawk Plus pads!!! My master told me that the pads are not soft enough! So... I changed them to Akebono pad's!! Now it work's perfectly!!!

I'm running Hawk pads on Brembo blanks that were cross drilled and slotted (RACECONCEPTS) and I'm not getting any of these noises. Did you remember to put the "gorilla snot" stuff on the side of the pads that don't grip to quiet the pads? Trying to help.

I've got to do brakes on both my 96 and 2000.

One thing I've learned is that few shops seem to be able to do Nissan brakes without them squeaking.

I went through this the last time with my 96 and ultimately had to take it to Nissan to get them to fix it. That was after trying to get the shop that did the original install to fix them 3 times.

I've encountered many Nissan owners - Altima and Maxima - that only get the noise issues solved by Nissan.

I just got RTP rotors with Axxis/PBR Ultimate pads, and after the initial break in period most of the noise went away. My brakes feel very good, and they are very quiet now. Occasionally I hear a mild squeak, but only when I'm slowing down from moderate speed (around 40MPH). I've heard people say that it's normal to hear some mild noise from the Axxis/PBR Ultimates, especially when they are cold or not being pushed very hard, since they are more aggressive pads (not as soft) as the OEM pads.
