tail light/ brake light question

just swapped out for 2000 SE lights... easy swap.. plug and play

however both my tail lights don't work when i turn on the headlights. however, both brake lights work when i brake. Isn't this the same bulb? what's going on here? do i need new bulbs?

Sorry... i'm a dunce when it comes to electronics.

since the bulb is a dual filament, you may not have it in right...just try flipping the bulb around and it should work...you have the 7443 correct? because if you have the 7440 i think its a single filament and wont work...

well im not really that electrically inclined, so i have no clue...i have just heard of this same problem on the .org a couple of times, and i know that it either has something to do with having the bulb flipped around the wrong way, or that you have a 7440, which is a single filament bulb....some one more intelligent is bound to give you a better answer some time...sorry i couldnt be of greater help for you....did you check to see if your bulbs are in right though?

Yes. I had low beam burn out but high beam still worked.

Yes, if you have the 2000 taillights, you have to have the 7443 bulb for the brake/parking lights. Also, for the turn signal, you must have a special bulb, "PY21W". The sockets are different as compared to the 2K2-2K3's taillights. I have a 2000 SE, and I did the opposite...I upgraded to the 2K2-2K3's SE taillights.
