Tired of getting shocked.
I get shocked all the time, too. I thought it was 'cause of the cloth seats in my Miata, but my Max. has leather and I still get shocked. It happens when you slide your butt out of the seat to exit the car. It's really horrible up here in the NE in the winter. It's not so bad in the summer, though. Touching the door jam or any metal surface while sliding across the seat usually helps reduce the shock. Maybe getting some of those really cool straps your see dangling on the back of trucks would help?

I wonder if that has ever really happened? Footage of that would be crazy!

now for my two cents... I have short, clean cut hair... ah, and cloth interior... I am also a victim of static electricity... however... I can always tell when I’m "over charged" when the hair on the back of my head reaches out for the head rest... I went testing tonight... the door jamb method works... props on that... as far as j00r friends... let them fend for themselves...
... if they say anything, you can always retaliate with "well, it never happens to me"... while mumbling the following words under your breath while slight clearing your throat... "anymore".... >
... anyhow!
And all this time I thought it was just me. Everytime I get out of my car and I go to close the door I get shocked. I know I look like a little girl because I be scared to touch that damn door. smh
Maybe I use go out and buy a can of anti-static or something....

dang....i am not spending hella money to buy leather seats!! esp. when it's only like 3-30,000 volts
<--is this a right approximation? I must admit I hate it when it happens. On my 4th gen accord, the door frame was not metal..it was some kind of other material i don't remember but it didn't conduct electricity too much i think...but the maxima door frame is metal so....this could be the reason. How about put a bounce sheet on the seat haha!that would make people freak out more than jsut being shocked...

I think i saw a video of that once...I think it was a woman in a white pickup that did that and the **** just lit up.
Tim,
Did the shocking start when you switched over to you summer rims/tires?
I was listening to CarTalk this morning and someone called with same concern on an older Jeep GC.
The first assumption was that he had just bought new tires, which was the case but he was getting shocked even with his old tires. Something about the differences in tire compounds...
Their solution was the previously mentioned grounding strap, preferably NOT attached near the gas tank.

Punctuation. Grammar. Capital letters. Something worth saying.
I can't seem to find any of those in your post...
