Quick ? about resonator
Hey everyone,
Just a quick questoin here about our resonators we have on our cars.
If i was to cut it out and replace with a straight pipe - other than making the car a whole lot louder, would it increase HP or anything at all.
Reason i am asking is if any of you have looked under your car, right behind our stock resonators on the b-pipe, the piping is bent in and is very air ristrictive. Wondering if anyone has done this and how it sounded, responded and anything at all anyone has input on.
I know i may get flamed for asking but i just want to know.
Thanks for anyones input in advance

it actually wont make the whole lot louder at least in my opinion. if you keep or have the stock muffler on then you hear a tone difference but it wont be loud. as you stated the crimps in the exhaust are what is really restricting the flow and not really the resonator. you get a 2.5" aftermarket b pipe and have it resonated or unresonated. there are a few horses to be released with a b pipe but you will your best bang for buck is in the y pipe. i used to run a cattman y pipe, custom 2.25 unresonated b pipe to stock muffler and loved the sound and power gains.

Yea i am thinking of running a 2.5" custom made b-pipe esp cause of that crimping i was trying to word in my first post.
So was there any power gain at all? did you feel any difference except for making it a bit louder?
Thanks for your post by the way

there is a gain that has shown to be around 3-5hp with everything else stock so it is not going to be something you will truly feel. i did the b pipe after the y pipe so of course i felt more with the y pipe (12-15hp).
