is this ok/possible?

So i was looking for intakes through yahoo and saw a jim pop charger thing. Is it possible or ok for the car to go down and buy an intake filter and attatch it the end of the MAF? will that do anything besides make the growl? increase in hp?

i've never seen anything on this so let me know.

Unlikely to get any significant increase in hp, it's more for growl. If you want perf. either get a true CAI like a Place Racing/Cattman or even the GAB has been shown to give some nice gains on the cheap.

You were talking about this right?

ya thats what i was talking about. I dont want to get a CAI they are too expensive. I have the GAB right now but its not that loud. it also only makes any real noise when i push it hard. So i wasn't sure if that would make a difference or not.

its a JWT pop charger, basically replaces the stock airbox with the air-cone filter. i remember it giving slight gains. I've got it on my car and it gives a nice growl...

yes and no, the reason its so expensive is because it has a built in mass air flow adaptor plate on the back. if u buy the filter (less say from discount) you woudl still need to buy the MAF adaptor plate to make it mount to the MAF

You can go to autozone or some other parts store and they should sell mass air adapters that will allow you to attach a cone filter to the maf. I think they are like 10 bucks.

damn the pop charger is 109 dollars, jeez. ur better off buying an apexi cone filter than an extra 10 for the maf adaptor, just make sure the adaptor has room for adjusting the plate to let it mount the maf.
