GAB mod question

so i did the GAB and i've seen some pics where the front of the airbox was removed. You know the piece that connects to the front part near the bumper and leads intot he actual airbox. is that ok? does that help it or will that create any future problems?

when you take it off...it will be even louder...i've tried both....basically if you take that portion off...it will open up another hole thus sucking in more air

it won't damage anything....

are you talking about the front intake snorkle? if so my 2k2 has no sensors connected to the snorkle....and no sensors in the airbox either....the only sensor I find within the intake system is the MAF...

sooner knows exactly what i'm talking about. There is a harness that is just using it as a support which i assumed could be moved. but theres actually a harness before the airbox that is connected to the inside of the box.

farther out shot:

1st thing that i think i just ziptie:

2nd that is the one i'm questioning:

ok, so just drill a small 1 inch hole and take it out of the removed piece and put it in there like you did?

the mass air sensor is after the filter as far as air flow path goes. the two sensors are the boost sensor (just the the left in the pic). the one to the right is the air temp sensor. cali spec 2k and all 2k1s did not have the boost sensor and in 2k2, they incorporated the air temp sensor into the mass air flow. this is the piece that is moved when a 3.5 wants to use a 3.0 maf.
